Summary | 0001994: Display interlaced gifs progressively | ||
---|---|---|---|
Revision | 2013-12-24 14:04 by Vincent Sanders | ||
Description | Now that Netsurf starts displaying images on a page before they are all downloaded (a recent change), what about displaying interlaced gifs progressively as they are downloaded. And the same for any other graphics formats that support interlacing, or even just progressively displaying large jpegs from the top down or better and better resolutions overall. This all helps to 'speed read' a page and get an idea of it's images before necessarily waiting for them all to display fully. If I remember correctly, Fresco did interlacing. Phoenix shows jpegs at increasing resolutions as they load too. |
