Summary 0000435: Status bar reports >100% of file received
Revision 2013-12-24 15:11 by Vincent Sanders
Description Using NetSurf test build (29 Jan 2006 12:30).
Bug observed on both Iyonix (RISC OS 5.10) and Risc PC (RISC OS 4.39).
Often I have noticed that the percentage received of a file (as reported in NetSurf's status bar) exceeds 100%, at which point the value becomes meaningless.

This is presumably because the original estimation of the file size was incorrect; e.g. "Received 21.87 kB of 40.00 B (55982%)".

For all I know this is a server-side problem, but it happens with tiresome regularity. Even if NetSurf is not at fault, it would be nicer if the total size and percentage received were replaced by "?" when the no. of bytes received exceeds the supposed file size; e.g. "Received 21.87 kB of ?".

I attach a screenshot showing the phenomenon.
