Summary0002511: Some BBC News URLs usually fail to fetch and render
DescriptionSome BBC News pages never fetch or render, with status "Fetching, Processing" which never changes. Multi-tasking is fine, nothing times out, nothing arrives. The log shows a long period of no entries until the fetch is aborted.

Example URL is http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38597754

It's been there for quite a while now - it's not specific to 3958.
Steps To ReproduceVisit http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38597754

Since it's less than 100% repeatable, visit it several times.

If you are using your own builds can you ensure your toolchain has the updated unixlib after December 2015 and is not suffering from the issue found in bug 2384

If these are CI builds it may be related to javascript

It's CI builds, not my own.

I'm puzzled by the suggestion that this is related to bug 2384. 2511 is pages that do not render in any reasonable time (an hour), whereas 2384 is about pages that are slow to render.

same problem.

I noticed that the first of those two didn't completely load in Firefox and Ubuntu - the main image was black until I refreshed it. But everything else was there in FF, versus nothing in NS. May or may not be related, I don't know.

I've just tried all three URLs above with NS 4213 and a more recent version mof RISC OS. They load and render as quickly and completely as I would expect. The problem, whatever it was, appears to have been fixed.
